एकजण म्हणाला मी हिंदू
दुसरा म्हणाला मी मुसलमान
तिसरा म्हणाला मी ख्रिचन
चौथा म्हणाला मी बौद्ध
मी त्यांच्या मध्ये घुसलो आणि म्हणलं
मी भारतीय.. मी भारतीय…. मी भारतीय…
तर त्या सगळ्यांनी मला हाणला…
लई तुडवला हे भारतीय नवीन काय भानगड त्यांना प्रश्न पडला…
पण मी नाय चिडलो
अंग सावरत उठलो
आणि भारताची प्रतिज्ञा म्हणली
भारत माझा देश आहे…सारे भारतीय माझे बांधव आहेत…
त्या सगळ्यांनी टाळ्या वाजवल्या
आणि म्हणाले ही आम्ही शाळेत म्हणत होतो….
मग मी म्हणलं अरे हीच तर जगण्याची खरी गरज आहे आज या देशात
त्यांनी मला परत हाणला
त्यांच्या प्रत्येकाच्या धर्माचा दणका लई जोरात बसला
मंडळी मी आधी गोरा होतो
पण या धर्मवेड्या लोकांनी मला तुडवून
काळा केलाय
या कट्टर धर्मव्यवस्थेने करपवून मला काळं केलं आहे…..
असो मी अजून तुडवून घेईन
अजून काळा पडत जाईन
पण मी भारतात भारत पुन्हा पुन्हा पेरत राहीन…
भारतीय म्हणून आपली जात आणि धर्म सोडून माझ्यासोबत काळा व्हायला याल का…?
वाट पाहिन आपली…आलात तर जय भारत…

हा माझा भाऊ — “दंगलकार”.
आधी लई गोरा होता! पण तो “भारतीय” म्हणत गर्दीत घुसायचा…
लोकं धर्माच्या नावावर त्याला तुडवायचे… पुन्हा पुन्हा…
एक दिवस मी त्याला म्हटलं — भैय्या, जात सांग… धर्म पेर… वाचशील!
पण तो ओरडत राहिला — “मी भारतीय! मी भारतीय!”
आणि पुन्हा पुन्हा हाणला गेला…
आज तो काळा दिसतो — पण ही काळसर छटा त्याच्या त्वचेची नाही…
ही काळी झालेली संवेदनशीलता आहे… समाजाने सोसलेल्या प्रत्येक लाथेची साक्ष आहे.
आणि तरीही… तो आजही भारत पेरतोय…
माझा अभिमान आहे — माझा भाऊ “दंगलकार” आहे!
